I have always enjoyed exercising.  Whether it was running a marathon or taking a spin class at the gym, I’m a cardio junkie.  However, I didn’t pay much attention to my eating habits.  I would tell myself it was okay to eat the hamburger and fries because I had worked out that morning.  I was gradually gaining weight as I aged.

Two summers ago I fractured my ankle.  While I was in a cast for six months I continued to exercise.  I concentrated on weight training because I could not do any cardio.  I also continued to eat as if I wasn’t broken.  As a result I gained ten pounds on an already unhealthy weight for my size. When my cast was removed I started physical therapy.  Gradually, I started adding swimming and biking into my routine.  All the while my nutrition had not improved and my foot was not healing.  I was put back on crutches and activities were taken from me.  It was very frustrating because I couldn’t do any cardio and I was growing out of my clothes.

I called Angie and started a new lifestyle.  Angie taught me that if my body isn’t healthy it cannot heal itself.  With her help I started eating clean and looking at food in a different way.  My foot soon healed and I began running again. I now have a better understanding of how nutrition plays a vital role in the way my body looks and feels; it is not just about exercise.  I have forever changed my nutrition, continue to exercise and have found a new respect for my body.
