Zelma (ZEE) Beard has been an active participant in the Riverside community for over thirty years. She is co-owner and founder of Riverside Personnel Services, Inc. (31 years and counting!) and has been active with numerous non-profit boards, service groups and civic groups -- Riverside Hospice, Humane Society Pet Adoption Center, Kiwanis Club of Riverside and Monday Morning Group to name a few.
Zee was an avid runner (jogger) for many years, participating in lots of 10K runs and a handful of half-marathons. For the last fifteen years, she has been devoted to personal training and overall physical fitness - except for those times when she takes a “short” break that turns into several months and too many pounds gained.
In July 2009 Zee was coming to the end of one of those “breaks” and although she felt she knew what to do to get fit again (having done it several times before), she decided to make an appointment with Angie for a nutrition consultation and diet plan because she wanted the influence of having to be accountable. Zee had heard many great things about Angie and knew several people who achieved great results from working with her. Zee was very impressed with Angie’s enthusiasm and professionalism as she set off to work with her nutrition program and step up her gym workouts. Prior to her followup visit with Angie, Zee observed several women at the gym who she felt were close to her age and observed that they could benefit from working with someone who understood their needs and cared about their success. It was at that moment that Zee told herself -- You love to workout, you love to help people, you have time to do this, you need to become a Personal Trainer!
When Zee came back to Angie for her follow-up nutrition visit, she mentioned to Angie her thoughts about getting into this field of work and the rest is history. Since following her custom nutrition plan and a regular endurance and strength regime, Zee has lost 18 pounds and feels she is in the best physical shape of her life.
Zee has enjoyed downhill skiing for many years and is an avid golfer. She believes that her endurance and strength training have improved her performance in both of these activities. She would like to help others do the same.
Zee is looking forward to working with men and women of all ages to help them with their personal fitness goals. Because she is at the front end of the Baby Boomer Generation, she is particularly interested in helping these men and women improve their strength, body composition, tone, balance, endurance and flexibility.
Zee is an ACE-certified Personal Trainer.
